Despite my interest and tendency to find algorithmic solutions to the various problems I encounter, I have never found the motivation to learn how to solve a Rubik’s Cube, even though I have always felt a sense of admiration for those who can. To start getting into the right mood, I prepared an SVG animation of the Rubik’s Cube so I could note down the required steps using the official notation.

Fixing the edges
An algorithm to fix the edges, fundamental in one of the simplest methods for solving the Rubik’s Cube.
R U R' URotate the center by 90 degrees
An advanced algorithm useful only for Rubik’s Cubes with images on the sides, in order to fix the orientation of the centers after solving the rest of the cube. Specifically, this algorithm rotates the center of the top face by 90° clockwise and the center of the left face by 90° counterclockwise, while leaving the rest of the cube unchanged.
